1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the supply of locksmith services by City Locksmith London ("we", "us", "our") to you, the customer. By booking our services, whether by phone, through our contact form, or in person, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services. If you have any questions, contact us at contact@city-locksmith.co.uk or 020 4524 6667.
2. Our services
We provide locksmith services across Greater London, including but not limited to:
- Emergency lockout response
- Lock changes and replacements
- New lock installations
- Auto locksmith (car keys, programming, lockouts)
- Van locksmith and security upgrades
- uPVC door and window locks
- Commercial locksmith and access control
All services are performed by qualified, insured locksmiths.
3. Quotes and pricing
We provide free, no-obligation quotes either by telephone, on site, or in writing. Prices are agreed before work begins.
- All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (GBP) and are exclusive of VAT (currently 20%) unless otherwise stated.
- Our published price list reflects starting prices. Final cost depends on the type of lock, complexity of the job, and parts required.
- If unforeseen complications arise during a job, we will inform you and provide a revised quote before continuing.
4. Proof of address and authority
For your security and ours, when we attend an emergency lockout or unlock service we may ask you to provide:
- Photo identification matching the address (driving licence, passport)
- Proof of your right to access the property (tenancy agreement, utility bill, V5 for vehicles)
We reserve the right to refuse work if we cannot satisfy ourselves that you have authority to access the property.
5. Payment
Payment is due in full on completion of the work, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept:
- Cash
- Credit and debit cards (via secure card terminal)
- Bank transfer (commercial customers only, on prior arrangement)
An invoice or receipt is provided for every job. Commercial customers may request 30-day terms subject to credit check.
6. Cancellation
You may cancel a scheduled (non-emergency) job by calling us at least 2 hours before the agreed arrival time at no charge. Cancellations made less than 2 hours before, or once our locksmith has arrived at the property, may incur a call-out fee covering travel time.
For consumer cancellations under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day right to cancel contracts concluded at a distance (e.g. by phone or web form). If you ask us to start work within the 14-day period, you may be charged for work already carried out if you subsequently cancel.
7. Workmanship and guarantee
We take pride in our workmanship. All labour is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion. Manufacturer warranties on parts apply separately and are typically 1-5 years depending on the product.
The guarantee does not cover:
- Damage caused by misuse, accident, or third-party interference
- Wear and tear due to normal use
- Work not carried out by us
8. Liability
We carry comprehensive public liability insurance covering our work. Our liability to you in respect of any single job is limited to the cost of remedying the defective work or, where this is not reasonably possible, to the total amount paid by you for that job.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any other liability that cannot be excluded by law
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss caused by your failure to take reasonable care of your property after we have completed the work.
9. Force majeure
We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform our services where caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, civil unrest, road closures, or industrial action. Where such circumstances arise, we will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule.
10. Complaints
We aim to provide a first-class service. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of the work, please contact us within 30 days:
- Phone: 020 4524 6667
- Email: contact@city-locksmith.co.uk
We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to resolve it within 14 days. If you remain dissatisfied, you may refer the matter to an Alternative Dispute Resolution provider or, for consumer matters, contact the Citizens Advice consumer service.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking is the one that applies. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
